Some children with unintelligible speech make little progress despite receiving intervention that has successfully resolved other children’s difficulties. One possible reason is that the child’s errors are inconsistent without any other signs of developmental apraxia of speech. If a child’s errors are variable, in that different error patterns affect a sound in the same word context, it is difficult to select targets for therapy.

This CD programme explains how to deal with inconsistency. It describes the assessment process, differential diagnosis and best intervention practice. The CD includes:
